SUBJECT: Remaining Thinner through the Holidays
Welcome back to Part Two of my FREE special report, “Thinner Through the Holidays”
The majority of people who are overweight eat emotionally. We do not always eat simply to satisfy hunger. We also turn to food for comfort, stress relief, or as a reward. Sadly, emotional eating does not repair emotional difficulties. It usually makes us feel worse. Eventually, the original emotional issue remains and you begin to feel guilty for overeating. The recognition of emotional eating triggers is the one of the first steps to free yourself from the strong desire to compulsively overeat, and change habits that have negatively affected your diets in the past
Eliminate Emotional Eating —
Instead of eating through your stress, try this simple technique: Touch the side of your arms; then tap your collar bone. Close your eyes; then open your eyes. Look down to the right, then to the left. While closing your eyes, touch the side of your arms while imagining skipping over a rope. Then, open your eyes, and move them up, then to the left and to the right two times. After touching the side of your arms again, the stress should be gone.
This is process is defined as EFT ( Emotional Freedom Technique) or tapping and it is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a brain/body/emotion reprogramming technique where you tap gently on different parts of the body with your fingertips and pay attention to your emotions. It sounds peculiar though it is a very simple stress relief technique that works exceptionally well on anxiety. You may feel a bit foolish the first time you do it, but that minor discomfort is more than worth it. Tapping for anxiety is effective in reducing eating disorders, as the benefits can produce both temporary and long-term successes. The calming process of tapping can curb the immediate desire to follow through with unsettling behavior, which is helpful.
In some situations, people express “It’s going to be hard to do this because…”
As a Hypnotist I can assist you to make that positive change in your mind. If you are asking yourself the magical “What if…?” questions. What if I can not be disciplined?
We begin where you’re at and move forward at a pace you can handle. Each individual comes from a different place and moves towards the same goal. Over time, you will find that you simply will not desire or tolerate “fake food” that destroys your health. As if you had undergone gastric-bypass surgery, your stomach will reject it, and you won’t feel well from it. You will enjoy the flavor of real food more and feel good about taking proper care of your body simultaneously. You will eat greater amounts of great tasting healthy recipes and foods, and you lose your desire to eat all the unhealthy stuff.
