Processes in Life We all Must Learn

I have assisted many individuals experiencing difficulty with self-awareness and confidence.

Life is not always easy and we sometimes experience anxiety, remorse, and other emotional pain. Indubitably, this is expected and many times necessary. These are “life lessons.” I have spent many hours assisting my clients to review where each has come from, what each is experiencing and how to make the changes to change.

We need to experience life in order to learn these lessons. And the more life we experience, the more lessons we collect. Lessons can come from people such as great thinkers like Abraham Lincoln, Margaret Fuller, Albert Einstein, Rachel Carson, and Martin Luther King. Other lessons may be forwarded to us from friends and family.

Even though lessons are learned through experience, we do not have to wait until we are middle-aged to become conscious of what is significant and valuable. We only need to possess the inquisitiveness and aspiration for personal growth. As we learn new lessons, we can incorporate them into our lives and notice the benefits.

Here are five of many important life lessons that I have incorporated into my sessions that are time tested:

Life is the Present

We wait for that wonderful thing to occur that will be the cause of our future happiness. But the present is our future. All our past presents are what have created our now. So learn to live by moving and creating right now.

Fear may never come

Most of the things we fear will not occur. And if they do occur, they seldom are what we have feared. For many of us, the actual fear is the worst thing that will occur.

Prioritize family and significant others

Significant people matter most in our lives. Remember to prioritize them in your life each day. Prior to picking up the cell phone, the tablet or the computer, treat them as if they mean everything to you because they do.

Financial liabilities are not worth it

Nothing exhausts and degrades the human spirit more than being in debt. Be aware of your reserves. Save some of your salary and feel liberated.

Your children are not you

You have brought your children into this world. You care for them until they can care for themselves. You can educate them, devote yourself to them, and appreciate their unique capabilities, but you cannot change them. Each is a unique person who will live their own life. Allow them to do this.
