“Dreaming of Better Sleep? Let Our Hypnotherapy Practice Help Make it a Reality

As a Hypnotherapist at Medvesta Hypnosis Healthcare, I often encounter patients who struggle with various sleep issues. Here are three common sleep issues and evidence-based approaches for addressing them:
- Insomnia: Insomnia is characterized by difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. One effective treatment for insomnia is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). A study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology found that CBT-I led to significant improvements in sleep quality, with the effects lasting up to 6 months after treatment (Morin et al., 2011).
- Sleep apnea: Sleep apnea is a disorder in which a person’s breathing is repeatedly interrupted during sleep. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy is the gold standard treatment for sleep apnea. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that CPAP therapy led to significant improvements in daytime sleepiness, blood pressure, and quality of life (Engleman et al., 1998).
- Restless legs syndrome (RLS): RLS is a neurological disorder characterized by an irresistible urge to move the legs, often accompanied by unpleasant sensations in the legs. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine found that treatment with dopaminergic drugs, such as ropinirole, led to significant improvements in RLS symptoms (Winkelman et al., 2007).
